I grew up in Michigan, left at 18 to attend college in Colorado, spent a couple of years living in Europe before making my way to Utah to work as a ski patrolman at Snowbasin. While there I started a ski vacation travel business which I ran for four years before starting my teaching career.
I spent 25+ years living in Park City commuting to schools in the Salt Lake valley as well as working on numerous construction projects and being a landlord.
In my 40's I met a fabulous woman and got married. In the fall of 2014 we were lucky enough to find a little cabin for sale near the bottom of Guardsman Pass Road and we have happily called Big Cottonwood Canyon home ever since. It had always been a dream to get politically active in a community thus I got involved with the BCCA and now the Town Council.
After teaching history, government and financial literacy for 25 years, I am currently the Dean of Students at an early college charter high school in West Jordan. I spend my free time backcountry and resort skiing, hiking, biking and being outdoors. Though I have traveled all over the world, I am really proud to call Brighton home.
