The Town of Brighton has five council members, including the mayor, elected at-large by the registered voters. The council adopted and adhere to these Rules of Order. The 2026 Brighton Town Council Regular Meeting Schedule is set on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm. All meetings are chaired by the mayor, mayor pro tempore, or as delegated. The Brighton Planning Commission is an advisory body to the Brighton Town Council for issues and policies related to planning, land use regulation, and community development. The commission is comprised of five volunteer citizens from the community who donate many hours of service to the town. Members are appointed by the mayor, with the advice and consent of the town council.
